Location and Amenities
Villa Keechanti is nicely situated in a quiet residential area but is also conveniently located to nearby amenities and other wonderful places to visit whilst on holiday.
Alicante. 40 Minutes drive.
Well worth a visit - plenty of nice shops, especially leather goods. A long promenade lined with street traders selling fancy goods.Towards the end of the promenade there is a centre with shops,restaurants and bars, a cinema, and children's play area.
Guardamar. 10-15 Minutes drive.
It has beautiful clean beaches, promenade with lots of bars and restaurants. A large park and picnic area at the end of the town. A harbour and plenty of small local shops, a market and a Mercadona supermarket in the centre. There are about four Chinese restaurants in the town, which serve delicious food at reasonable prices. There are also many other restaurants to cater for all tastes.
Torrevieja. 10-15 Minutes drive.
This is a much larger town and very popular with the tourists, this has a very long promenade, with lots of bars and restaurants where you can sit either inside or out to eat and drink. Very nice clean beach, it has a harbour and a small fun fair. It also has an open air theatre. Carrefour supermarket on approach to the town centre.
La Marina. 10-15 Minutes drive.
A small and beautiful beach resort.
Santa Polo. 30 Minutes drive.
Small town, again a wide variety places to eat with every cuisine. A fairly big fishing port, where you can buy freshly caught fish around 9pm in the evening from small stall holders. Boat trips to the Isle of Tabarca.
Elche. 30 Minutes drive.
This is the manufacturing area of Spanish leather goods, handbags, coats, shoes etc. It is also the Garden Centre of the area, where all the large palm trees and shrubs are grown. It is a very large town but a bit of a nightmare for parking.
Local markets
These are the places to buy all your fresh produce, vegetables and fruit in abundance and the quality not seen for many a year in the UK. You can also buy freshly roasted chickens, spare ribs, and lamb off the spit, cheeses, hams, fresh bread etc. They also sell clothes, household and fancy goods. Just look at for signs 'Mercado' (market) at the roadside.
Cuidad Quesada. 5 Minutes drive.
Within the centre of Quesada you will find banks, (most of them have ATM’s), post office, petrol station, beauty salon, bars and restaurants, newsagents, local shops, police station, and a medical centre.
